Our last spirit week of the year begins on Mei 18, 2020 and we want to celebrate YOU!
The theme this week is culture and we want to honor our ancestors by sharing about our history. Which family recipes do you enjoy? What traditions are being passed down? What new traditions are you and your family doing now? Do you have any family stories that are being shared? Any songs or dances? What do you and your family do to honor your family history? We would love to see photos or videos. We will be posting this on social media and it will be linked to our website at www.puohala.weebly.com. #puohalaspiritweek #puohalaschool
Here are the topics, but if you have other things you want to share about your culture, please share them with us.
Poʻakahi, Mei 18, 2020
Share a favorite family dish of you making it and or enjoying it!
Poʻalua, Mei 19, 2020
Share a family heirloom or artifact that has been passed down to you or your family.
Poʻakolu, Mei 20, 2020
Share a traditional outfit or attire from your familyʻs culture.
Poʻahā, Mei 21, 2020
Share a mele or dance or poem or speech.
Poʻalima, Mei 22, 2020
Share a new tradition or a story from your experience with the stay at home order.

Aloha mai kākou,
We have a very exciting week ahead! For spirit week, we will be focusing on our social and emotional well being. Please take some time to take care of your mental, social & emotional wellness while also recognizing others such as your family members, first responders, and essential workers, with positive thoughts or actions. This theme also just so happens to pair perfectly with our second theme of the week - Teacher Appreciation Week! We will like to recognize and show appreciation to all of our kumu and teachers who have worked so diligently throughout the year and even more during the distance learning! We will be honoring our wonderful kumu and teachers this week by showing them our appreciation for them.
Join us this week for Physical Wellness Week at Pū’ōhala! We are starting off with some yoga on Monday. Search Hello Sun on Cosmic Kids Yoga’s YouTube channel and tag us with your sun salutation pose. Stay tuned for Coach Mikeʻs videos for Obstacle Courses and Sports Drills! We will be having Hula and Tahitian lessons on Poʻahā and then a dance party! Canʻt wait to see everyone participating. Share your videos and photos with your kumu or teachers or tag us on social media and add the hashtags #puohalaspiritweek #puohalaschool #physicalwellness.
